The Muppets Textual Analysis
- Parody style trailer
- A Handful of the credits are in the style of the films they are mocking, for example breaking dawn and paranormal activity
- Show snippets of the film that briefly explain what’s happening
- Introduction to the main characters with titles; Kermit the frog, Miss Piggy, Jason the Segel
- Target audience; mainly families as the content; it’s a funny happy film with the idea that its suitable for parents to take their young kids to watch it whilst at the same time getting enjoyment from it themselves. (It contains humour) ; ice age, shrek similar styling.
- t includes the three act structure
- Voice over firstly narrates a picture of the film
- ‘Are there humans in this movie’ when Kermit the frog says this, a musical sting is used as to give off the impression of surprise or shock
- Music during the middle section of the trailer gets louder and tense as it ‘thanks the internet for one heck of a year’
- During the parodies of other films the music and whole set changes to fit the film; paranormal activity, the music gets scary and slower
- Credit towards the end of the trailer letting the audience know when the film is released
- ‘We’ll see you at movie theatres everywhere the music gets really loud then stops; climax
- Age certificate at the very end shot of the trailer; PG
- Each shot varies in length depending on what is being shown; credits given less time than the actual shots from the film
- Camera shots are mainly medium shots which get all the Muppets in.
